I’ll be there.will be finding out from fairfuel team how to lobby my mp on day and will be supporting us ucg.
Sick of fuel prices rocketing.giving up voting in general elections(seems to make no difference),and will be devoting all my energies to demonstrating ,(peacefully),instead,it’stime to STOP being apathetic
Well I went down there on we’d at 1pm.got myself in the sun newspaper (Thursday 8th edition.went into parliament to lobby my mp but don’t think he was there .i waited 1hour for him in central lobby hall,(seems a very old fashioned system cause you don’t know if your mp is in the house or not, they send a runner for them).plenty of people did see their mps though.
I found it a very educating experience and would defo do again.
After waiting I went up to committee room 14 and listened to debate on lowering fuel duty and was approached by the bbc tv reporter to do a very short piece to camera, which I did,it was on tv on wed night!
Was a bit worried I might make an idiot of myself but think it went ok
Sad thing was only 300 people gave up their time for this, out of nearly 70 million people!too many people moan their arses off and then cannot be bothered.im surprised more cabbies were not there, too busy driving past with their passengers, not giving a shit!.i had a good look but I could not see the ucg banner anywhere.in fact what I saw first, and couldn’t believe it,as I came round into parliament sq was the Ltda van advertising 4 for 1,trust them to pay it lip service, made my stomach churn…

The UCG were in attendance Paul, but as you are aware there was persistent torrential rain so we did not put the UCG banner up.
We too saw the LTDA’s Advan parked down the road with the occupants sheltering from the rain, we hope they didn’t get any parking tickets.
Well done to you for attending and speaking to the reporters, let’s hope the Government listen.
